Simulation and Analysis of Electromagnetic Scattering from Anisotropic Plasma-Coated Electrically Large and Complex Targets

An efficient physical optics (PO) calculation method is proposed for the electromagnetic (EM) scattering of electrically large targets coated with magnetized plasma characterized by asymmetric tensor dielectric parameters. The outer surface arbitrarily shaped target discretized into triangular elements. According to principle tangent plane approximation and using wave spectrum expansion method, scattered field from one element derived as a double integral in spectral domain. To obtain solution spatial domain, saddle point used asymptotically calculate integral. Then, equivalent currents (ESCs) are constructed calculating at planar model, which PO Stratton–Chu Moreover, interpret propagation process layer quantitatively, total model decomposed superposition different mode components. It observed that fields demonstrate an inherent cross-polarization phenomenon due nonreciprocal constitutive relation plasma, distinct feature general anisotropic medium whose parameters can be diagonalized. effectiveness verified numerical results. Furthermore, algorithm consumes less time memory compared commercial full solvers.
